Java Backend Developer

Description:

As part of our R&D team, you will be working with product management as well as our algorithms and security researchers in order to integrate business logic needs in the most agile and smooth way. You will be engaged in the design and implementation of the company’s business logic, utilizing modern frameworks. The Application is DB-backed and interfaces with numerous modules.

Must have qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in developing Java server-side, DB-backed applications for Linux
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following technologies / frameworks / Principles: Spring, Hibernate, Messaging (i.e. RabbitMQ, JMS).
  • Good understanding of SQL and MySQL DB in particular.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience web based systems

 

Nice To have:

  • Working with Amazon (AWS) / Azure
  • Knowledge of No-SQL DBs such as Cassandra / MongoDB
  • Good understanding of networking protocols such as UDP/TCP/HTTP/SMTP
  • Contributions to open source projects / tech forums (e.g. stackoverflow) / tech blogs, etc.

 

Other skills & characteristics:

  • Rapid software development – architecture/design, implementation/testing, deployment.
  • Setup of environment and equipment for development and demos.
  • Fast learner, autonomous producer, strong team player, diverse in capabilities

Sales Engineer | Western US

Job Description:

empow is seeking a highly motivated, results oriented individual in the western US, supporting both Enterprise Sales & Channel Enablement Teams. You’ll be the subject matter expert on the technical aspects of selling empow’s solution for these team’s serving our customers, prospects, and partner ecosystem across the western US. Up to 60% travel required.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with sales teams throughout technical qualification & evaluation
  • Gather prospect technical challenges and requirements to be prescriptive in approach
  • Demonstrate empow’s security platform to clients remotely via webinar sessions, onsite, and at field events such as conferences and trade shows
  • Provide implementation and support during proof of concepts and evaluations
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFX’s as needed
  • Work in partnership with customers and internal teams to assess customer’s distinctive needs and requirements
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers
  • Be a next gen SIEM technical expert: know networking, security, and competition
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in EE, CE, Computer Science, MIS, or Business.
  • 7+ years’ experience as a direct and/or channel Sales Engineer designing, selling, demonstrating, installing and troubleshooting network infrastructure and security products.
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients to understand their technical challenges and requirements and to effectively articulate solution
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to analyze complex problems and use a systematic approach to gain quick resolution
  • Ability to be organized and analytical, and will be able to eliminate sales obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth start up environment
  • Available to travel to visit prospects
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • SIEM, Log Management, Network Security, Endpoint Security, and/or Security Orchestration technology experience is preferred

Job Description

The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for identifying high quality sales opportunities for Regional Sales Directors and Mid-Market Account Executives. In this role you will be making the first impression to new prospects while articulating the value proposition of the technology platform, and how empow is approaching the business challenge differently.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in empow’s onboarding process, learning the technology, competitive landscape, and our differentiation
  • Partner with Regional Sales Directors, Mid-Market Account Executives, and Marketing
  • Intelligently prospect into defined geographic territory to schedule discovery meetings
  • Consistently achieve or exceed goals, maintaining all notes in Salesforce
  • Report to Mid-Market Sales Manager

Requirements:

  • 1+ years in an SDR or BDR role at a cyber security company, outbound focused
  • Driven self-starter who is able to adjust in a dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to learn technical concepts & apply knowledge to business challenges
  • Possess strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Salesforce, RainKing, LinkedIn Sales Navigator a plus
  • Experience generating qualified opportunities that result in larger, more strategic sales
