Java Backend Developer

Description:

As part of our R&D team, you will be working with product management as well as our algorithms and security researchers in order to integrate business logic needs in the most agile and smooth way. You will be engaged in the design and implementation of the company’s business logic, utilizing modern frameworks. The Application is DB-backed and interfaces with numerous modules.

Must have qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in developing Java server-side, DB-backed applications for Linux
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following technologies / frameworks / Principles: Spring, Hibernate, Messaging (i.e. RabbitMQ, JMS).
  • Good understanding of SQL and MySQL DB in particular.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience web based systems

 

Nice To have:

  • Working with Amazon (AWS) / Azure
  • Knowledge of No-SQL DBs such as Cassandra / MongoDB
  • Good understanding of networking protocols such as UDP/TCP/HTTP/SMTP
  • Contributions to open source projects / tech forums (e.g. stackoverflow) / tech blogs, etc.

Sales Development Representative | Boston

Job Description

The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for identifying high quality sales opportunities for Regional Sales Directors and Mid-Market Account Executives. In this role you will be making the first impression to new prospects while articulating the value proposition of the technology platform, and how empow is approaching the business challenge differently.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in empow’s onboarding process, learning the technology, competitive landscape, and our differentiation
  • Partner with Regional Sales Directors, Mid-Market Account Executives, and Marketing
  • Intelligently prospect into defined geographic territory to schedule discovery meetings
  • Consistently achieve or exceed goals, maintaining all notes in Salesforce
  • Report to Mid-Market Sales Manager

Requirements:

  • 1+ years in an SDR or BDR role at a cyber security company, outbound focused
  • Driven self-starter who is able to adjust in a dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to learn technical concepts & apply knowledge to business challenges
  • Possess strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Sales Engineer – Mid-Market & Channel Enablement | Boston

Job Description:

empow is seeking a highly motivated, results oriented individual in the Boston area to join as the first dual role position supporting both our Mid-Market Sales & Channel Enablement Teams. You’ll be the subject matter expert on the technical aspects of selling empow’s solution for these team’s serving our customers, prospects, and partner ecosystem across the US.  Up to 50% travel required.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with sales teams throughout technical qualification & evaluation
  • Gather prospect technical challenges and requirements to be prescriptive in approach
  • Demonstrate empow’s security platform to clients remotely via webinar sessions, onsite, and at field events such as conferences and trade shows
  • Provide implementation and support during proof of concepts and evaluations
  • Respond to functional and technical elements of RFX’s as needed

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with key partner and empow SE’s
  • Management, creation, and drives technical enablement plan for channel partners
  • Be a next gen SIEM technical expert: know networking, security, competition and channel business dynamics
  • Creation and execution on partner lab, demo, best practices sessions & workshops
  • Coordinate on the job training for partner SE’s by allowing them to shadow presentations and evaluation installations.
  • Provide ad-hoc support for evaluations and post sales issues with partner engineers, and quickly transition them to appropriate internal resources
  • Present at channel driven marketing activities on an as needed basis.
  • Assist in the selling effort to partner technical resources during new partner recruitment

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in EE, CE, Computer Science, MIS, or Business.
  • 7+ years’ experience as a direct or channel Sales Engineer designing, selling, demonstrating, installing and troubleshooting network infrastructure and security products.
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients to understand their technical challenges and requirements and to effectively articulate solution
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to analyze complex problems and use a systematic approach to gain quick resolution
  • Ability to be organized and analytical, and will be able to eliminate sales obstacles using creative and adaptive approaches
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth start up environment
  • Should be available to travel to visit prospects
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • SIEM, Log Management, Network Security, Endpoint Security, and/or Security Orchestration technology experience is preferred
  • Highly preferred: Technical Channel SE experience working with assigned partners and understanding of a channel centric go to market approach.

QA Engineer

What you will be doing

At empow, the QA team is very product oriented and has a crucial part in our development process. As a QA engineer, you will plan and execute complex real-world security scenarios, and debug complex issues with extensive Investigation in the fields of networking, databases and security devices of various types. You’ll be supporting Dev teams with testing guidance, providing customer perspective, and plan and build automation – we believe in automating whatever can be automated.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, onboard, and ramp up strategic security channel partners to help get to market quickly
  • Facilitate product and sales training to partners field sales/SE staff
  • Creation & management of lead generation activities to start sales funnel from inception to close and track ROI
  • Proactively communicate with empow regional team on channel pipeline and forecasts
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Channel business plan for western region

Requirements:

  • 10 years and above of technical-sales experience with channel partners in the computer networking & security space
  • Technical graduate degree preferred
  • Relationships with Optiv, Sirius, Di Data, Presidio, ePlus, and Accenture a plus
  • Outstanding presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Up to 50% travel required

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong technical knowledge with a broad range of security and networking technologies
  • Must have both the sales skills and technical knowledge to make presentations and lead customer discussions to advance the sales process
  • Ability to develop relationships and work extensively at the executive level
